Thunder Bay

The drive from Marathon to Thunder bay was the most picturesque drive until now. For the most part the drive is on a road cut through the rocks with forest and lakes on both sides. We made a short stop at a ravine where we sighted a lynx. Before arriving Thunder Bay we spent a few thoughtful moments at the statue of Terry Fox. After having a quick lunch at Hoyto the Finnish restaurant we visited the Thunder Bay Museum, conservatory and the marina.
Now off to some rest to face the 700 kms to Winnipeg tomorrow.

  1. By everyday standards 700kms to Winnipeg is such a far distance but when considering Canada's vast geography, it is just till the next city. This trip must definitely give an impression of Canada's landmass grandeur. Good luck with the next part of the journey.

  2. Yes Amit, when starting in the morning the distance seemed a lot but nice scenery and good roads made it easy to reach our destination. We are off tomorrow to Regina and shall call you from there.

  3. We're happy that you are enjoying your trip so far and looking forward to seeing you in Vancouver. Wai til you get to the "Rockies"- that will be the highlight of the trip. The highway from Jasper to Banff is most scenic!
